Travel to Plitvice

Have you heard about the wonderful Plitvice Natural Park in Croatia? Neither do I ! Until I hear about it from Cristina and Rafaela.

We went to Zagreb all three in order to discover its wonders during the first long weekend, but also in order to discover the Plitvice Lakes. It was in the early morning of the second day of the 4-day weekend (good night) that we took a bus from the Central Station of Zagreb towards the lakes.

In terms of dress, those of us who do not have a jacket to protect them have made some purchases in Zagreb (with more or less success, isn't it girls?). Some were still better prepared than others since the idiot who tells this story had the worst idea in the world by taking shoes in canvas ... while it rained all the day at Plitvice.

Did I say it rained ?

For a long time we hesitated on the number of hours to spend in Plitvice and if we had to sleep on the spot to take advantage to see the best of the lakes, because many are the ways, and little are the indications. Finally, we cut for omly one but a long day in the park.

So imagine: After a (too) short night, our little team running towards the bus and catching it at the last minute while already frozen and drowned by the rain.

Arriving at the park, in the cold and the rain, we went looking for a last cafe before starting our adventure ... and we cannot say that we were greeted with a smile.

For all that, we kept our courage and put ourselves in the queue of many tourists and their big umbrella.

And despite the rain, the cold, tourists not well placed on small wooden pontoons with their umbrellas and panels sometimes misplaced ...

Well, you know, it's ONE OF THE BEST TRIPS I've ever made. It was very beautiful ! A true autumn wonder, a paradise of color, a paragon of diversity and waterfalls of all kinds.
